IMPORTANT If your having trouble with the private messaging or file transfer elements or getting a message that says your chat applet is not compatible..............

Some of you are having problems with chat private messages and dont get file transfer capability. This is because for some reason the Digichat host has been loading an older version of the chat applet.
To force it to use the latest Chat applet, follow this procedure.

First, make sure you are NOT in the MTVZ Chat System, If you are, log out first.

Next, load up your web browser ie Internet Explorer Then choose the Tools menu and select the Internet Options... menu option Now press the [Settings] button Then press the [View Objects] button In the window that appears, click on the View menu and choose Details, Now look for the DigiChat Applet icon (it may just come up as DigiChat...) in the list - if it DOES NOT say 4,0,1,0 for the version, please DELETE the file.

Then re-enter the Chat system at MTVZ This will force the Chat system to load the latest Chat version which is 4,0,1,0

Other problems you may be having...........

The chat system at MTVZ is reliant on your browser having Java support. Most browsers will have this but if when you arrive at the chat system if you dont see a box to log in to then your browser does NOT have Java enabled.
You can get Java for your machine free of charge for all platforms HERE

Windows / IE5 users you can check you to see whether Java was installed by following this procedure.

Click the 'Tools' button
Click 'Internet Options'
Now click the tabe marked 'Advanced'
Scroll down the list and search for 'Java VM' heading.

You should have both 'Java Console' and 'JIT Compiler for Virtual Machine' enabled. If they arent click the boxes and restart. You will need the original IE5 install disk for this which is usually part of your Win95/98 disk OR maybe a separate CD.

If you dont have the disk then you will need to get a new version from the Microsoft web site.

The Java Applet......
When you first log in to MTVZ chat you will be asked to accept a small download. This is the actual applet that allows your PC function as a chat terminal you MUST accept this download or you can't chat. The download is harmless to your PC and you are not charged for online time other than normal internet connection costs.
This is absolutely NOT a dialler program or similar.
