The final part
of your makeup is those lips. This is the bit I always enjoy myself. There's
something so very sensual about applying
lipstick.
Lipsticks come
in the conventional sticks plus liquid paints - some people find the paints
easier to cope with but I have never had any trouble with a
stick.
You can also
use Rimmel glimmerstick either as a lip definer (more on that later) or as a
lipstick in their own right. Lip definers usually come as a very thin lipstick
(see the pic below) or as a soft pencil like a 'Kohl' eye
pencil.

APPLICATION If you are using a lip definer this should be a slightly darker
shade than your lipstick. Apply it to the edges of the lips and use it to trace
a line where the lipstick will be used to fill
in. I seldom use a lip definer but
some people find them useful to set the lipstick line
with.
Now - and you
MUST have seen a girl do lipstick - open your mouth and cover your teeth
slightly with your lips and simply roll the lipstick on. The top lip should be
done in two strokes to get the indentation in the top lip right. I paint on a
type of cupids bow style by simply drawing two curving line from the centre
going left and then right - where the line overlap is the indentation in the
top lip. This provides a perfect cupids bow
shape.
Lipstick should
go right to the edge of the mouth on most people but it depends on your lip
shape to some extent.
Finally for the
final piece of appeal use a small sponge applicator and apply a small amount of
your eye-highlighter to the centre of your bottom lip. Now press those lips
together - mmmmmmmm - and wriggle them a little. You should now have a lighter
spot in the centre of both top and bottom lips that give you a sexy pouting
look. |

Keeping it Clean
I use a basic
cleansing milk and cotton cleansing pads to remove my makeup although a hot
shower will do as well.
All of your
brushes and applicators should be cleaned regularly and left to dry before
packing away. For cleaning applicators and brushes I use baby shampoo and hot
water - basic soap will do as a good job
also.
Finally NEVER
share your eye make-up with friends - its a potential source of infection from
certain diseases that can survive being in the fluids in the
makeups.
FINALLY
Remember above all this is fun - don't stress out when things
go wrong - sometimes you can learn a lot from the mistakes - when I am making
up and things go badly wrong I use the opportunity to practice other stuff and
styles.
To get your
makeup right can take a long time and a lot of practice so don't get depressed
in the early stages - its amazing how just doing it maybe half a dozen times
will improve your ability.
