If you have done your eye makeup in the style that I have shown in the 'making up is hard to do' articles and havent been satisfied with results or perhaps need a more restrained style then this small article on an alternative approach to eye may just be what you need.

This style is quite simple and quick to apply and is perfect for just day wear and is also a perfect lightweight makeup style for summer.

Stage 1 Lid and socket color
Apply a light lilac shade just on the eyelid, dont run a socket line color. This color will hardly be visible while your at an early stage so dont be too tempted to over do it.
I used a Maybeline pale lilac with a slight opalescent shimmer for this.

Now apply a white or opal shade very lightly into the socket area and up to the eyebrow line. Again this will be hardly noticeable while making up so again keep it light.

Stage 2 Top line
Apply either a liquid eyeline or Kohl pencil to the top lid. Unlike in other articles keep this line quite thin with only the barest thickening at the edge of the eye.

Stage 3 Bottom line and edges
Now apply a Kohl pencil all the way round the botton of the eye and also in the inner edges ( the bit nearest your nose). The bottom line should be above the eyelashes on the skin thats against the eye.
Be careful here and watch out for possible allergic reactions because this line will contact the eyeball. My eyes are quite used to it but for a novice it can sting and feel uncomfortable initially.

The Kohl pencil is applied all the way round - check the pics above.

Stage 4 Mascara
Apply your mascare to the roots first and then once the lashes are evenly colored hold the mascara wand againt the tips of the eyelashes forcing them back. This will help the lashes hold a nice curl. Careful here that you dont force he lashes back so far that they impact the eye socket and cause smudges.

Apply Masacara in one very light coat to the bottom lashes - just enough to darken them.

Stage 5 Complementary blusher and lipstick
For this eye coloring you will need a slightly peachy / pink blusher and apply it very lightly.

Lipstick colors for this should be paler than usual to help force the emphasis on the eyes. I used a Rimmel watershine color in a pale-ish pink.

This style suits blondes best of all but will work for redheads quite well too. Its worth mentioning that you need fairly fine eyebrows to really make it work.

Unlike the 'Making up is hard to do' eye makeup style which will suit most people this style will only work for some girls.
